You know what time it is: winner announcement time!
We’ve got four familiar faces this month and one first-timer! Congrats to everyone and thanks to all of you who have been submitting. We’ve noticed that lots of you have really stepped up your game–the quality of the photographs that we’ve been getting has just been getting better and better. We love it! Keep up the good work. Congratulations to those of you who won and good luck to everyone for the November cycle. As always, we’ll have a new judge with new personal tastes, and new chances for everyone to make it to the winners’ circle.
A special thanks of course goes out to Ms. Deana Tierney May, our guest judge this month and the editor of Threads and SewStylish magazines. Picking winners is never easy and she had an especially stylish group of you guys to choose from this month!
Now, let’s get on to her picks and commentary!
Deana: I love her sense of style, and this outfit looks very hip and current. That all of these pieces were thrifted is amazing! The lace top is beautiful, and her combination of the sparkle belt and the saddle shoes with the wild print pant is brilliant. This is very creative and it works for her.
Deana: I like the unexpected combination of colors and styles in this outfit. I love the red beaded necklace worn with the more sophisticated jacket and pencil skirt. It’s not only a great pop of color, but it makes the outfit modern and makes it her own.
Deana: I love all the layering he’s done with this outfit, and he does it with such panache. It’s casual and fun but also put together. The boots complete the look.
Deana: This one wins the sewing award. Not only did she find fabulous pieces at great prices, but she tweaked them to fit and even added a button closure made from a necklace. Great ingenuity and she looks every bit the classy mother of the bride!
Deana: What a great find on this Etro suit, and he’s combined it with wonderful accessories. He’s definitely got an eye for details.
